To get the correct size for your dog – first weigh, then measure girth as in diagram.

Why a Dog Life Jacket is a Good Idea

This dog is at risk of drowning – she is not protected by wearing a dog life jacket.  More dogs than any of us care to imagine die by drowning every year. The exact statistics remain un-quantified, however thousands and thousands is the answer. One factor that all these cases have in common is that the dogs that drowned were not protected by a dog life vest.

It was designed to be a ‘comfort toy’ to help pups or grown up dogs who don’t like to be left alone and is really cute.  However, it does have a squeaker in the head of the bear  so best not to leave your pup or dog unattended with this dog blanket toy.  It is made of nice soft fleece and is quite small at 15″.

Cotton Canvas Dog Gone Smart Pet Throw, Brown

When we find a dog product that really does what it says it does, we like to share the info with other dog people.

Dog Gone Smart invented the nano technology that makes these pet throws different from others.  Nano fabric repells dirt, germs and bacteria and solves the problem of doggy smells.

We’ve had our two pet throws for just over a year now and have washed them only 5 times each, although we do shake them outside regularly to get rid off the dust.  The nano fabric doesn’t fade on washing  (or in the sun) and given that the protective finish is said to last over four years, based on 1 wash per month, we’re doing well! None of the stitching has come loose and we have no snags on the fabric.  Our dog doesn’t chew but if a dog did, the protective finish is non-toxic.

The quilting is luxurious our dog seems to like snuggling on it – we have one on the sofa and another folded up in our dog’s bed.  One side is cotton and the reverse is a soft plush velvet which we find useful, as when it’s hot we use the cotton side upwards and reverse it when the cold weather comes, so our dog has comfort all year round (also gives our sofa a different look!).

Dog Gone Smart pet throws were designer in super clean Switzerland and the pet throws are eco-friendly, which is good to know.  The downside – a bit pricey at $70-$80 each but we have had numerous cheaper fleece throws that have become worn and stained in a matter of 6 months, so full marks for being durable.
